LIFE RADIO

Life Radio 92.9FM was established in 1991 as a Christian radio station. The purpose of the station was to interact with and be part of the local community where the Gospel message could be heard. Over the years, there were several management changes, however in January of 2018 Pastor Russ Hodgins brought a renewed vision and purpose to the station. Today Life Radio reaches Listeners throughout NJ and can reach thousands of listeners across the country thanks to online broadcasting.

Joseph Crouchman

General Manager/Program Director

Joe grew up in a house where music was the norm and loved the radio at a very young age. He lived in the Bronx listening to Al Hirt on his headphones in the closet and imagined being a DJ playing the hits. At 10 he moved to Eastern Canada with his family of 4, which began his love for hockey both as a player, referee, and Coach (go New Jersey Devils). Leaving the Great White North at 18, he moved to Texas to pursue a career in Aviation as a Pilot. While at Letourneau University he discovered a small campus radio station KLTC and fell in love with radio again. While gaining experience I was invited to send an aircheck to KYKX and the rest is history so we say. I moved to New Jersey in 1987 while working as a Pilot, where I met my wife Jane and we have been on our honeymoon for the last 30 years. We started attending Fountain of Life in 1993 and found two of my favorite things…Music and Radio! Did I mention we had a brass section where I played trumpet, and we had a cool radio station. I have been here ever since enjoying sharing the love of God through awesome Christian music, what a blessing. When I’m not at my church you will find me fishing with or playing Golf with my 18 year old son Joey. I also spend each day walking my best furry friend…Siberian Husky, 2 year old Blaze Jr (B.J).

Candace Knox

Middays 12p-3pm

It’s Candace your midday host at Life Radio. I am a mother, an advocate, writer, budding film director/producer, dancer (in my heart), frugal shopper, ice cream demolisher and lover of all things chocolate!

My Birthday- November baby all the way! Fall and Winter are my favorite seasons of the year. I do enjoy spending summers at shore. The ocean breeze is just an amazing. It’s such a beautiful place to relax and have fun.

My favorite Life Radio Artist- That is way too hard for me to just pick one. I can rock out to TobyMac’s- I Just Need U. Then, the next moment lift my hands and get lost in worship to Natalie Grant’s- Clean. If I turn on Hillsong Young and Free- ALIVE it is a wrap! I am a true fan of it all.

My favorite food– I should say something like Chicken Spinach Alfredo Rotini Pasta, which is amazing by the way. My favorite food is and will always be P-I-Z-Z-A! I still get giddy when I hear someone ordering pizza for the office lunch. Friday nights in our house are no cooking nights for the family. On one Friday, I decided to go on a pizza run for the family. True story, I ended up buying pizza from separate places and having a pizza tasting contest. Pizza for Life!!

My favorite color– Yellow is my color. It is such a beautifully vibrant, intense color. Whenever I wear it, I just feel so invigorated and full of joy. It puts a little extra pep in my step. From what I read, the color yellow is associated with fire, which in turn, has always been associated with the purification process- the healing power of God.

My favorite bible verse– I love, love, love this verse from KJV 1 Samuel 30:7- “And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.” The scripture highlights a deep and dark valley in David’s life. During this time, David had to encourage himself in the Lord. He when he called for his “Ephod” that is when he decided I need the Lord to step in this. I need the Lord to fix this. I can not do this without you Lord. Whenever life happens as it does, I hear those words “bring me my ephod”—I am reminded of that time in David’s life. I start to encourage myself in the Lord.

Three people I would love to have dinner with living or dead–  Of course Jesus Christ, I have a lot of questions for him. Outside that answer, I would love to have dinner with my grandmother who passed away several years ago. Also, I would relish the chance to sit down and talk with Joseph and Naomi from the Bible. Although I have read and heard their stories preached time and time again, I want to hear from them directly about their experiences. I can only imagine the gems of wisdom each of them would share.

Prayer and Praise

1030-1130 Saturday’s

Started in the mid-1990s under the name of “Prayer Warriors”, the Praise and Prayer Ministry of Fountain of Life Center’s Life Radio are co-laborers for the Kingdom of God: praying for the needs of His people and praising God for the results. Since the prayers of a righteous person is powerful and effective, we pray for the needs of others and ask that God’s will be done here as it is in heaven. Praise and Prayer can be heard on air between 10:30-11:30 every Saturday morning.
